FAQ - Frequently asked questions and answers
What is a space-saving room and why should I choose it over a bed with a bridge closet?
A space-saving SpazioBed room uses a raised storage bed (about 110-120 cm) to use the area under the mattress and turn it into a horizontal closet . The storage is developed horizontally, not in height: it is less bulky in the room than a traditional bridge closet and leaves the passages cleaner. The height is designed to maintain harmonious proportions and ensure a comfortable climb.Result: a tidy room, a lot of extra capacity and less visual clutter.
How much capacity does a space-saving room offer and how do the internal trolleys configure?
On a queen-size bed with four 120-cm trolleys, the capacity is comparable to a closet of about 2.5 × 2.5 m, but all in closet modules that slide outward. The interiors are custom configured with hangers, shelves and drawers according to one’s needs. With a height of 120 cm, almost all daily garments (excluding long coats) fit. It is more ergonomic than a closet because you don’t have to reach high or deep shelves.
Why is SpazioBed more practical and hygienic than a container bed with a lift-up bed base?
Underneath the mattress is a natural bed platform, the tatami; dust does not pass into the compartments underneath, so clothes and items stay protected. You don’t have to lift the bedstead: open the closet and you find everything, as in a low, convenient closet. The space underneath can remain “full-length” or be organized with drawers, shelves and pull-out closet trolleys. Less mechanisms, more immediacy. It is a dustproof storage bed and, in fact, a neat and practical closet for everyday use.
What is access like and how convenient is it to make the bed on a space-saving raised tatami bed solution?
The typical ascent is with 2-3 steps; where needed, two ladders (left/right) or a ladder at the foot can be provided if the bed is in a corner. The tatami bed platform that is slightly wider than the mattress simplifies making the bed and creates an area that can be used as a bedside table and for passage. The upper tatami base speeds up sheet tucking and prevents dust from passing into the compartment below.
Why does a solid wood room last so much longer?
Solid wood is strong and durable-it is not disposable. Small marks are easily restored without compromising aesthetics or functionality. Unlike particleboard, it can be repaired and even modified in the workshop when home needs change. It extends the life of the furniture and reduces waste. It is an investment that maintains quality and flexibility over the years.
Is a SpazioBed room really tailor-made?
Yes: a room is only truly space-saving if it is made to measure. SpazioBed is 100% so, so the furniture follows and makes perfect use of the available space (niches, out-of-square corners, obstacles and passage areas) and there are no empty or unexploited spaces. The systems are self-supporting: anchoring to the wall with 2 screws and no building practices, because we are talking about furniture. Assembly is clean and reversible (also useful in already furnished houses). It can be disassembled and reassembled elsewhere in the future. Result: zero wasted inches and no onerous bureaucracy.
