Space-saving studio and living room
SpazioBed’s Living and Studio area represents the excellence of contemporary Italian design, where innovation and traditional craftsmanship come together to create revolutionary furniture solutions. Each element in the collection is a testament to how intelligent design can radically transform the livability of living spaces, without ever compromising the elegance and quality of the materials.
At the heart of each creation is fine solid beech wood, a noble material chosen not only for its extraordinary structural strength, but also for its ability to lend a natural sense of warmth and coziness to the environment. The choice of this material ensures that each piece of furniture is not just a piece of furniture, but an investment destined to last, withstanding daily wear and tear as it acquires character over the years.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions and answers
How can I furnish a studio apartment combining study and living areas without cluttering?
The most effective solution for furnishing a studio apartment combining study and living room is to exploit vertical space with “furniture” loft structures. Unlike masonry lofts, SpazioBed solutions allow you to create two distinct environments on different levels:
- Above: A relaxation area or an elevated living room, visually separated from the rest of the house.
- Below: Ample storage capacity (such as drawer wardrobes) or a retractable bed that leaves the floor free during the day. This “vertical distribution of spaces” multiplies walkable square meters, allowing you to have a real living room and a real office even in 20-30 sqm.
How does the "Elevated Study" with hidden bed work?
The Elevated Study is a beech solid wood structure designed for those who work from home. The operation is simple and ingenious:
- The upper platform houses a complete office workstation (desk, bookshelf, chair), which remains always assembled and ready for use.
- The lower compartment hides a double pull-out bed on wheels. During the day, the bed completely disappears under the platform, leaving the room free and tidy for receiving clients or relaxing. At night, simply pull out the bed without having to move anything from the desk. It’s the ergonomic evolution of the classic sofa bed, ideal for those seeking a retractable bed with desk without compromising on sleep quality.
What is the minimum ceiling height to install a loft or raised bed?
To comfortably install a SpazioBed furniture loft, the ideal ceiling height should be between 270 cm and 300 cm. However, being products made custom to the centimeter, it’s possible to adapt the dimensions based on the specific height of the room and user.
- For a loft bed where you sleep above, it’s advisable to have at least 100 cm free between the mattress and ceiling to move comfortably.
- For solutions with pull-out bed underneath (like the Elevated Study), the platform height can be contained (about 50-60 cm from the ground), making it compatible even with standard ceilings or lower attics.
How much weight can the loft structure of the living room or study support? Is it safe for daily use?
SpazioBed structures are designed for intensive and daily use, not just as guest beds. Made from laminated beech solid wood, they have a very high guaranteed load capacity: the walkable surface supports up to 400 kg. Stability is ensured by wall mounting (on two sides or corner) with chemical or mechanical anchors, which distribute the weight and make the structure as solid as a traditional floor. Additionally, using Tatami as a base offers a resistant, breathable and sound-absorbing walkable surface.
Is it possible to insert a wardrobe under the elevated living room?
Absolutely yes. One of the most requested configurations for studio apartments is the Elevated Living Room with drawer wardrobe. In this configuration, the space under the platform (usually 100-120 cm high) is equipped with pull-out modules on wheels. These drawers function as a wardrobe as spacious as a traditional 4-season wardrobe, but with the advantage of being “retractable”. When closed, the loft front appears clean and minimal; when open, they allow access to the entire wardrobe by sliding outward, without having to move furniture in the living room above.
Does the wooden loft require building permits or masonry work?
NO. SpazioBed lofts do not require complex building permits or cadastral procedures (as happens with fixed masonry lofts), since they are considered removable furniture. The structure is self-supporting or fixed to the wall in a non-permanent way (removable), classifying as a furniture element and not as a structural modification of the property. This makes them the ideal solution for recovering space or giving dual functionality to a room in the house.
